ABSTRACT
The main objective of this group activity is to share the individual managerial aspects
from individual life experiences, the problems faced and how it was solved. In this report,
each of the individuals have shared their life experiences in managerial aspects and what they
have learned from that experience.
JOHN BAZIL JA - I was the student coordinator for the college day - a cultural program. As
a coordinator, I have to engage all the students to participate and coordinate. I categorized
them into groups according to their roles. There was a problem of difference of opinion
between the HOD and the students. The HOD refused every suggestion made by the students
and the students weren't happy about the HOD's decisions. I solved the issue by
compromising the dress code for students and more fun events were added according to the
students' wishes. From this experience, I have learned that for a manager or a responsible
person to solve a problem, one should try to compromise things and act accordingly for the
benefit of all.
UBAIR AIJAZ - I had a first-hand experience at managing, couple of years back when we
had to renovate our house and re-do the interiors. Right from consulting the architects and the
interior designers, to the procurement of the materials required and that too at rates that
would fit within the budget, which we had fixed initially. It was a challenging task to survey
the market, and to find experienced and skilled workers, and also complete the project in
time. So, I took help from a friend who had recently constructed his house. He recommended
me the stores to purchase the required material, and also help me in arranging workers for it.
This way our project got completed in time and also the budget wasn’t stretched.
CONCLUSION
The outcome of this group activity is to understand the real-life experiences of
individuals in managerial aspect. Based on this, it can be concluded that every person has a
managerial skill inside them which can be used not only in the work-life but also in personal
life.
