Dear Sir Johnson,

I am writing to you to apply for the internship that was listed in the Human Resources
department at Unilever Research. My name is Anna Koopman. I am 16 years old and I am a
fifth-year VWO-student at the highschool Pantarijn in Wageningen. I believe my interest in
research and practise and my diligence make me an ideal candidate for this internship.

I am currently considering a study regarding research and practice. Therefore I think this
internship would be the golden chance for me to make the acquaintance with the sector of
research and practice and to discover if I want to make a living in this sector in the future.
I believe this internship would provide me with the ideal opportunity to assist your company
and expand my research skills. The latter will of course also come in handy for my studies.
I would also like to see what it is like to work in a big, well-known company like Unilever. I
am interested in learning more about your department at Unilever and the work environment
of the research and practice sector.

I am confident I would be an asset as an intern in your department. I am very hard-working, I

enjoy working in a team but I am also willing and able to work independently. I am very
inquisitive and a quick learner. I like to think out of the box and come up with creative
solutions to diverse problems.
In the last few years, I have written multiple papers about various subjects. As a result, I
have some experience in the research field. I am well aware that there is still much room for
improvement in this area for me, but I am confident that the experience I have gained over
the last few years will be useful during this internship.

I am hoping, if my qualifications seem to be a match for the position, you will give me the
opportunity to meet you to discuss my capabilities and the internship in greater detail during
an interview at a mutually convenient time. Afterwards, I was hoping to get a tour of the lab
to learn more about your department, if you approve.
