Features of a Virtual Event

○ No travel- Could attend from a smart device, which means you could attend from
ANYWHERE. ANYTIME.
○ Choice- Can choose to go to just one session very economically, even if you were
on the road and just stop off at a rest area and catch that session you wanted to
see. Could even go to multiple conferences on the same day if they existed.
○ Cost-Can do this all the time, because almost zero expense.
○ Better than purely recordings- At least having the ability to ask a few questions
with the speakers is awesome. In live sessions, doubts can be clarified on time
instead of the long process of mailing the team about queries in pre-recorded
sessions.
○ Great for people with mobility challenges- people can attend virtually if they
can’t physically get around a conference center, or drive, or fly.
○ Limited Interaction-Interaction is far less in virtual events.
○ Breadth of reach-the reach is much wider than in-person events so your
knowledge/skills reach out to people outside your reach also.
○ Process seems much easier than in-person- the main focus is on the session and
not the venue, licensing etc.
○ Less liability- No one is physically on site, so no one could get hurt, or really any
sort of physically harmed while there. But still the organizer needs to monitor for
unethical behavior.
