MUDRA THERAPY

WHAT IS MUDRA

Mudra is simple yoga posture done to channelize the energy flow in our
body. By doing, one can treat most common diseases and discomforts in
physical body.

Regular practice of mudras will contribute to your overall good health


and can be used as a preventive measure.

BENEFITS OF MUDRA PRACTICE:

1. Easy to do.
2. Work equivalent to many yoga asana postures.
3. Cost effective self healing method.
4. Helps in regular breathing and meditation practice.
5. Certain mudras can bring in life style changes.
6. Wish fulfilling (Goal Achievers) mudra can help you be focused and get
the goal.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL MUDRAS

TIME: Minimum 8 minutes to Maximum 24 minutes.

POSTURE: Recommended is for the best result, else you can sit in chair. But
with neck and back straight.

AGE LIMIT: Minimum 7+ years and no maximum limits of age.

NOTE:People with high Blood pressure, low Blood pressure and Heart diseases,
Pregnant and to be Pregnant take advice personally before practice.

We recommended slow practice only and no practice for KIDS below 7


years.

DIET

Veg or Non-Veg is not a problem here. You can practice any time before
the food and 2 hours after the food.

SLEEP

Sleep is a kind of a best meditation, incase if you are not getting good
sleep practice JNANA mudra.

Before start the intermediate mudra please make sure you clean your
body, with Detoxification mudra.

TIDINESS

No problem you can practice without bath also. But the energy you have
created will remain in your Aura for sometime, allow that you settle in your
body.

01 . DETOXIFICATION MUDRA
Every minute they are so many chemical changes happening in our body,
as a result there are so much of waste products left in our body.

These waste products are eliminated from the body through

 Urine
 Motion/stools
 Sweat
 Breath

STEPS:
Extend all the fingers.
Bend the Thumb and touch the
base of the Ring finger.
Keep the other fingers straight.

POSTURE: Padmasana or
Arthapadmasana.

DURATION: 10-15 minutes per day.

Do this for 14 days to remove the toxins from the body.

BENEFITS:

Removes the toxins from the body.

Removes negative thoughts from the mind.

Purifies the body & mind.

NOTE:

From the second or third day, when the toxins are excreted you may
experience mild loose motion, mild nausea, increased amounts of urine,
sweating, thirst etc.

02. ANJALI MUDRA


Anjali Mudra is a Sanskrit word that means “Divine Offering”. The name
given to the greeting between Hindus, Buddhists and other religious with palm
joining together.

I Obey You

In Anjali Mudra

Right side of the body is –ve (Shakthi) (Dynamism)

Left side of the body is +ve (SIVAM) (Static)

+ve and -ve are connected

Electrical circuit is closed.

ANJALI MUDRA BENEFITS ON PRANA


Prana is contained within the body.
No scattering.
Others could not draw our Prana.
ANJALI MUDRA BENEFITS ON BRAIN
2 Hemisphers Left & Right.
Different functions.
At a time only one hemisphere dominates.
In Anjali mudra, both sides are connected.
Better efficiency.
Join the palms together.
This is one of the advance mudra, as a result we have three variations on this
mudra, Performing it close to heart, close to forehead and above the head.

03. VAYU MUDRA


STEPS:
Connect the tips of index finger and thumb finger with other fingers stretched
out straight.
NOTE: Ring, Middle and little finger are straight not bend.
Vayu Mudra (Oxygen, Prana)
Without food/water we can live for 3-7 weeks. This is proven in science too.
But without air we loose the consciousness within 8-12 minutes.
This mudra fixes the imbalance physical and mental body.

BENEFITS:

1. Air element is balanced.


2. Catching muscle pains disappear.
3. Pains in the back, neck and joints disaapears.
4. Indigestion is cured.
5. Blenching is reduced.

04. AKASH MUDRA


Means:
Cosmic energy

05. PRITIVI MUDRA – EARTH ELEMENTS


Represents the physical body.

06. VARUNA MUDRA – WATER ELEMENT

Connect the little finger and thumb and rest of the fingers stretched out
straight

5. Quenches excess thirst.

WARNING

Don’t do this mudra immediately after taking bath or after getting drenched in
rain.

Do this mudra with caution – If you


have sinusitis or very low body
temperature.

During winter & rainy days do it only

07. SURYA MUDRA – FIRE ELEMENT


STEPS:

Bend Ring finger and press with thumb


and other finger stretched out straight.

BENEFITS:

1. Body temperature is raised.


2. Body becomes strong.
3. Burns the excess fat.
4. Stimulates the thyroid gland.
5. Mental stress is reduced.
6. Body weight decreases.

NOTE: Hypothyroidism is cured by this mudra.

Excellent results for high cholesterol & obesity.

WARNING: Don’t do Surya mudra if you have Hyperthyroidism, Fever or Very


low stamina.

Don’t do this mudra for a longer time during summer.

08. JNANA MUDRA


STEPS:

Connect the index finger and thumb finger


and rest of the finger relaxed.

JNANA MUDRA is said to be one of the most


therapeutic mudras that a person can
practice. Some of the health benefits of this
gesture include-

09. SAMANA VAYU MUDRA


This mudra play an important role in many Tantric techniques.

Also known as Sankalpa Mudra or Shukari Mudra

POSTURE: Padmasana or Sukasana

TIME: 8 minutes – 48 minutes per day.

STEPS:

Connect all the four fingers with the Thumb.


There should be a shallow space inside.

BENEFITS:

1. Apan vayu is stimulated.

3. Dasa Vayus are balanced.

10. PANKAJA MUDRA


One of the best and simple mudra and very effective.

STEPS:

 Keep both hands


together.
 Connect the Thumb
and the little finger.
 The other fingers
should be spread out and
slightly bend – facing the
other hand’s fingers.

POSTURE: Padmasana or
Sukasana

TIME: 8 minutes – 48 minutes per day

BENEFITS:

1. Strengthens the nervous system.


2. Corrects blood flow – removes blocks.
3. Strengthens the spine.
4. Cures back pain, neck pain etc.
5. Reduces fever.
6. Dissolves abdominal tumours.
7. Purifies the mind and thoughts.
8. Beautifies the body.
9. Produce – TEJUS.
10. Creates softness of mind.

11. VEERTAG MUDRA

STEPS:
 Keep the left hand near the umbilicus- palm facing the roof.
 Keep the right hand over
that.
 Thumbs should touch each
other.
 No pressure.

POSTURE: Padmasana or
Sukasana.

TIME: 8 minutes – 48 minutes


per day.

BENEFITS:

1. Pranah raises upwards.


2. The body, mind an energy are connected and a state of equilibrium is
attained.
3. The emotions become stable.
