ENCLOSURES
(ISOLATORS):
LEAK TIGHTNESS AND CHECKING METHODS

What is Containment Enclosures?

Enclosure designed to prevent the leakage of the products to the external
environment, or the penetration of substances of the external environment
into the internal environment, or both at the same time.

Why Containment Enclosures are required?

Used to work on radioactive or toxic products, where containment
required for protection of personnel or environment, and sensitive
products requiring a special atmosphere and/or a sterile medium.

What is Leak tightness?

Is a fundamental measure of the quality of the barrier, to ensure
the barriers across the containment enclosures are intact, which
has to prove by Leak rate or leak detection methods.

What is Leak test & Leak detection?

Leak rate is the amount of air lost Leak detection is applied, when
from a positive isolator or gained the containment enclosure is
by a negative isolator per unit time, failed for leak rate and to find,
normally expressed in percentage. where leakage is taking place.

What are the methods for Leak test?
