Conjunction: A Word Used To Connect Clauses or Sentences or To Coordinate Words in The Same Clause (E.g. And, But, If)
Conjunctions are words that link other words, phrases, or clauses together.
Rules
a. Make sure that the phrases joined by conjunctions are parallel (share the same
structure).
b. The most common coordinating conjunctions are for, and, nor, but, or,
yet, and so; you can remember them by using the mnemonic device
FANBOYS.
F -FOR
A – AND
N – NOR
B – BUT
O – OR
Y – YET
S -SO
I like [tea] and [coffee].
[Ploy likes tea], but [Ken likes coffee].
EX. Not only am I finished studying for English, but I’m also finished writing
my history essay.
