WHAT IS MUSIC?
MUSIC is an art form and cultural activity whose medium is sound organized
in time.
GENERAL DEFINITIONS of music include common elements such as pitch,
rhythm, dynamics, and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture. Different
styles or types of music may emphasize, de-emphasize or omit some of these
elements.
WHAT IS ART?
ART is the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination,
typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be
appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.

THE NATURE OF MUSIC AND ART


 Music and Arts are more about skills. The skills that are
developed include reading/analyzing,
listening/observing, performing,(singing, using musical
instruments, movement, acting, and playing, using
different art materials, techniques and processes,
responding, composing, and creating.)
 Music and Arts provide an outlet for relaxation.
SCOPE OF MUSIC AND ARTS
The Music and Arts program seeks to expose students
to and develop appreciation for Philippine, Asian, and
Western music.
Students do not only acquire factual and theoretical
knowledge but are also introduced to applications like
singing, playing Filipino and Asian instruments,
listening to recordings and reading, writing and creating
music.
