In this section we have gathered together most of the various


resources mentioned throughout the text, organized them into a
few simple categories, and added a number of other references.
Our intent is not to be exhaustive, but rather to concentrate on
sources that are useful and practical, noting those that are free or
targeted toward education. Most of the sites and texts listed here
include their own hyperlinks or references to other resources.

FUNDAMENTALS

This site has articles with clear graphics and video tutorials on
the internet basics but also covers subjects for the not-­so-
newbies on topics like “How RSS Works,” “How Podcasting
Works,” social networking, wifi and mobile technologies, and
much more. Another nice feature is that the site includes
options for printable versions of the articles.

Teaching in a Digital Age, by Tony Bates, published in 2015 is

A far-­ranging book about the changing nature of education, it
addresses a host of topics related to online and technology-­
enhanced teaching and learning. Chapter 2 provides a very
engaging treatment of learning theories and ways of viewing

Chapter 7 analyzes the pedagogical differences between differ-
