DEFINITION OF DRAMA
Drama, which is believed to have its origin
in the art of dance, is found in some form in almost
every society, primitive and civilized, and has
served a variety of functions in the community. At
its best, it is a reflection of many phases of life.

DEFINITION OF DRAMA
Drama originates from the Greek word dram
meaning “to do” or “to act” Drama is usually
classified as literature. Drama is a display of
emotions, a representation of relationships and
the portrayal of the different phases of human
life.

versatility. Theater and music

1. Theme
The theme of a drama refers to the
central idea of the play. It can either be
clearly stated through dialogue or action
or can be inferred after watching the
entire performance.

The order of events in drama. It is
the basic storyline that is narrated
through a play.

spoken by actors within the limited facilities

As playwright, one is free to combine
modes, to criticize the situation, to reform
the characters, to exaggerate the lines, to fly
into undiscovered realms of the unreal and
the imaginary, or even to throw up in his
hands resignation of his subject.

the situation in which he gets involved are
essentials to projects.
The art and skills of acting are
developed through the hard work and strict

Definition of Literature
Literature is often conceived as a body of written
works in which the writer’s craft is primarily his skills
in conveying his thoughts and feelings.
Literature (Latin) littera “a letter of the alphabet”
Literature is of applied to those imaginative
works of poetry and prose distinguished by the
intentions of their authors and the excellence of their
execution.
