FREQUENCY

DISTRIBUTION TABLE
OBJECTIVES . . .
At the end of this session, the students should
be able to:

1. organize data in a frequency distribution

table; and

2. analyze, interpret accurately and draw

conclusions from graphics and tabular
presentations of statistical data.
Frequency
Distribution Table
A frequency distribution table is a device for organizing
and representing grouped data. When the data contains
more than 30 cases, a frequency distribution table is
constructed to make the task more manageable and to
save time in calculating different statistics.
The following steps in constructing
the table is helpful:
Compute the class size 𝒊

Class Boundary
It is also known as the exact limit, and it can be obtained
by subtracting 0.5 from the lower limit of each interval and
adding 0.5 to the upper limit. For instance, for the class
interval 15 -23 in table 1.1., the class boundary of the
lower limit will be 14.5 and that of the upper limit is 23.5.
