Task 1:

The first pie chart illustrates that an average Australian home uses energy for different
activities, while the other chart gives information on greenhouse gas emissions which
are caused by such energy consumption.

Overall, there is a significant proportion of energy used for heating and water heating,
while the majority of greenhouse gas emissions result from water heating and other
appliances.

The highest percentage of energy use belonged to heating, at 42 percent. This was
followed by water heating, which accounts for 30% of energy used of the total. The
two lowest proportions of energy use for lighting and cooling, which make up 4% and
2%, respectively. There is 15 percent of energy consumption which is other appliances
and the remaining percentage belongs to refrigeration.

The highest proportion releasing greenhouse gas emissions is water heating, which
accounts for 32 percent, twice as large as the harmful gases of heating and
refrigeration. The second highest percentage of emissions produced is other
appliances, making up 28 percent of the total. Two remaining contributors are lighting
and cooling, responsible for 8% and 3%, respectively.

Task 2:
The developing world doesn’t accept people who have misbehaviour and bad thoughts
because they are able to destroy the society by wrong things and wrong actions.
Therefore, children must be taught to distinguish between right and wrong, and choose
the right way of developing to become good persons, besides, punishment should be a
contributor in their growing up journey.

Punishment plays an important role in teaching children. It is undeniable that children

are going to become spoiled when they can get or do everything they want without
being responsible for these things which might be a negative side effect. For instance,
when a kid lies about one thing, with a correct punishment, adults can help that child
avoid doing this action for the second time, and the child, when grown up, will be
more trustworthy and respectful than others who are still lying.

Physical punishment should be avoided in modern life. This means that parents and
teachers should depend on the severity of the situation and the child’s personality in
order to have the right type of punishment. For example, when a vulnerable youngster
commits a minor error, a parent should use soothing words to encourage the child not
to repeat the mistake and provide a way for the kid to fix it; otherwise, the child will
face harsh punishment.

In conclusion, it is necessary for children to learn the right things during their
childhood in order to become better people thanks to the application of appropriate
punishment, which should not only be physical but also psychological or practical
depending on the severity of the incident.
