To the right of zero, we have the set of positive or natural
numbers. Sometimes we do not write the + sign for positive integers
anymore. It is understood that if a number has no sign, it is positive.
The dots at the beginning and at the end show that the
numbers continue endlessly in both directions.
We can see that every positive number has an opposite
negative number:
Example:
1. The opposite of +5 is -5.
2. The opposite of +3 is -3.
3. The opposite of 0 is 0
4. A gain of P25 can be written as +25.
5. a less of P25 can be written as -25.
Given any two integers, the smaller will always be to the left of
the larger on a number line.

Going up and down the elevator may represent positive and
negative numbers. When we go 8 floors up, that is +8 and when we
go 3 floors down, that is -3. Going down to the basement below the
first floor is -1.
We can say that moving to the right or going up indicate a
positive number, while moving to the left or going down indicates a
negative number.
