Discussion

According to Nørgaard (2018), bureaucracy is a multifaceted institution aimed at

accomplished specific tasks. Due to its complexity, and since it is made up of human beings, it is

hard to understand how bureaucracy works. However, sociologists have developed several

models based on behavior to understand this process. Learning bureaucracy has enabled me to

understand the cognitive problems in human rationality and its effects. I have also understood

that individuals involved in bureaucracies, just like other human beings, have varying

psychological needs and motivations; thus, they behave differently depending on the situation.
