Aesthetic Arts and Crafts

“The beautiful is in nature, and it is encountered in the most diverse forms of reality.

Once it is found, it belongs to an art, or rather, to the artist who discover it.”

For our 5th Activity, Students will be able to differentiate the difference between

aesthetic arts and crafts and identify the types of arts and crafts.

Directions:

 Kindly research the following questions and topics:


1. The Difference between Aesthetic Arts and Crafts
Answer : Art serves aesthetic purpose whereas craft serves human purpose. Art appeals to the
human mind. A piece of art like painting, sculpture or architecture requires what is called
creativity. Anything that is created with creativity automatically appeals to the human mind.
2. Types of Arts and Crafts and their meaning
Answer :
 Types of Craft.
 Textiles. Appliqué, Crocheting, Embroidery, Felt-making, Knitting, Lace-making,
Macramé, Quilting, Tapestry art, Weaving.
 Woodcraft. ...
 Paper craft. ...
 Pottery and Glass Crafts (see also Ancient Pottery) ...
 Jewellery. ...
 Other Examples of Craftwork.

3. Principles of Understanding Artistic Design and Composition


Answer : The 7 principles of art and design are balance, rhythm, pattern, emphasis, contrast,
unity and movement. Use the elements of art and design – line, shape/form, space, value, color
and texture – to create a composition as a whole.

4. Motivated Functions of Art


Answer : These may be to bring about political change, to comment on an aspect of society, to
convey a specific emotion or mood, to address personal psychology, to illustrate another
discipline, to (with commercial arts) to sell a product, or simply as a form of communication.
 Write or computerize it on a bond paper.
 Pass it on Google classroom – Classwork - add attachment – turned in
