IT Director Job Description
The ManKind Project USA seeks a New Warrior for the staff position of IT Director to work with and
support the Executive Director, MKP Staff, IT Team, and the membership of MKP. He will be
expected to work with a great deal of autonomy on a wide range of projects and to oversee the
Information Technology Team.

Ability to work with a great deal of autonomy and in close collaboration in teams
Ability to communicate clearly and warmly with the public and members of MKP
Ability to think systemically about our IT programs, and to provide recommendations for
ongoing improvement
Active involvement with NWTA staffing and participation in an Integration Group
Ability to write well and to present information clearly in spreadsheet and data file formats
Understanding of web and database systems
Ability to supervise a widely dispersed team of IT volunteers and contractors
Required Skills
• Experience managing Linux Servers (Plesk and/or Ubuntu preferred)
• Experience managing network services (DNS, Firewalls, etc)
• Experience Managing MySQL
• Experience Managing Apache
Desired Skills
• Hands on management and customization of Drupal themes and modules
• Hands on management of multiple Apache VHosts on a single VPS
• Project management of legacy-replacement efforts
• Understanding of MKP’s IT systems
Summary of Responsibilities
Directly and personally manage the existing IT infrastructure, including website, databases and
associated servers
Creation and Implementation of IT Development Plans to support Regions and Centers around
the world.
Serving as project manager, marshaling both internal and external resources to drive an array of
IT projects from design to implementation.
Acting as leader of the volunteer IT Team, managing their tasks, leading team meetings, and
finding and developing new volunteers.
Working with other professional staff members to determine, developed and deliver IT
requirements.
Examining system security, data safety/backup and expansion planning.
Writing and maintaining the IT section of AOP and Budget
Managing all IT vendor relationships
