Human Rights / Participants in program were not based
from socioeconomic status, gender, age, sexual orientation and ethnicity. (The 1987 Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines- Article XIV, Section 1) Social Equity / Addressed the varying needs of the different groups. Students: Leadership skills. Women and men: Highly beneficial for work opportunities; work on important societal problems. Gender Equality / One of the beneficiaries of the program was the women since the participants were not selected. Also, men and women have given the chance to prove their skills in using computer. (reduce the gender gap) Participatory / There was an active participation in the Development community. Nearby barangays and nongovernmental organizations joined the student’s organization. Students conducted consultations and meetings with different sectors in the said barangay. Empowerment / Trainings were conducted to teach trainees the right way on using computer. Trainees were informed with the processes that were able to enhance their skills on the said program. Builds participants confidence. Advocacy / Individuals from the urban poor community were involved. The program took into consideration the present culture in the community and leadership development was enhanced.
