En inglés la pertenencia o posesión se expresa por medio de las siguientes formas:

a. My / your / his / her / its / our / their, se utilizan delante de un sustantivo (her
dress, our house, etc.).

Sue lives with her cousin.
It’s your problem, not our problem.

b. Mine / yours / his / hers / its / ours / theirs, no requieren de un sustantivo porque
éste ya ha sido nombrado antes y generalmente van al final de la oración.

e.g.

That’s their house. That’s theirs.
These are her flowers. These are hers.

c. ’s (Arthur’s diary, my friend’s hat, etc.)

Para indicar que un(os) objeto(s) pertenece(n) a una persona, se utiliza

SIMPLE PRESENT: Se utiliza para expresar ideas o acciones que ocurren habitualmente
o con cierta frecuencia. Este tiempo es especial porque la tercera
persona singular (HE, SHE, IT) presenta la siguiente paricularidad:

Agregamos “es” al verbo en la tercera persona singular:
a. cuando termina en “s - ch - sh”:
