Vision

changing world of Mechatronics engineering

Mission

Offer a well-balanced programme of instruction, practical experience, opportunities for


overall personality development and environment conducive for self directed and lifelong
learning

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

Graduates of Diploma in Mechatronics Engineering program will be able to

1. Engage in applications of systems and tools in the field of Mechatronics engineering


and allied engineering industries
2. Apply the knowledge of Mechatronics engineering to solve problems of social
relevance, or pursue higher education
3. Work effectively as individuals and as team members in multidisciplinary projects
4. Engage in lifelong learning, career enhancement and adopt to changing professional
and societal needs

Programme Outcomes (PO’s)

After completion of the programme the student should be able to:

1. Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering to solve the


Mechatronics engineering problems.
2. Apply Mechatronics discipline specific knowledge to solve core and applied
engineering problems
3. Plan and perform experiments and practices and to use the results to solve
Mechatronics engineering problems
4. Apply appropriate technologies and tools with an understanding of the limitations
5. Demonstrate knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues
and the consequent responsibilities relevant to Mechatronics engineering practice
6. Understand the impact of the Mechatronics engineering solutions in societal and
environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge and need for sustainable
development.
7. Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and
norms of the engineering practice.
8. Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in
diverse/multidisciplinary teams.
9. Communicate effectively to solve core and applied engineering problems
10. Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in
independent and life-long learning in the context of technological changes.
