Fran Barto for Village Council -Introduction

• Ms. Barto has been a permanent resident in the Village of

Ridgewood since 2013.

• She grew up in the neighboring Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ, and

has frequented Ridgewood throughout her life for its restaurants,
parks, and shopping.

• Ms. Barto is committed to the betterment of Ridgewood and is

especially loyal to and supportive of its local businesses.

• She was appointed in 2017 to the Ridgewood Planning Board and

has continuously served to date. Her current term ends in 2024.

• She was thereafter appointed to the Ridgewood Open Space

Committee and continues to serve on that Committee.

• She is an attorney and was admitted to the New Jersey and

Pennsylvania Bars in 2009. Also admitted to practice in the United
States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Third
Circuit Court of Appeals, she has been actively practicing law in
New Jersey since her 2009 admission.

• Ms. Barto has a history of representing public entities including

municipalities and school boards and therefore has keen
knowledge of the types of issues that arise in these forums.

• In addition to serving on the Ridgewood Planning Board and Open

Space Committee, Ms. Barto is an elected Trustee to the Bergen
County Bar Association and has served on various committees
including: General Equity, Federal Practice, Professionalism in the
Law and the Young Lawyers Section, for which she was President.
