BETEL LEAF - CREEPER PLANT

1)RESEARCH PHASE
Betel leaf is a vine from the family of Piperaceae, mostly consumed in India and Asia as
a 'Paan' along with 'Arcea Nut' or tobacco. ... Betel leaves come with several curative
health benefits as they are loaded with vitamins like Vitamin C, thiamine, niacin,
riboflavin, carotene and a great source of calcium.

MAINTENANCE - It is very easy to maintain and requires very less water.

SCIENTIFIC NAME - Betel Plant
FAMILY - Piper betle
NON FLOWERING PLANT - Betel Leaf is a non flowering plant.
COLOUR - Shades of Green.
HEIGHT - In three to six months the vines reach 150 to 180 centimeters in height and
they will branch.
MAINTENANCE - It is very easy to maintain and requires very less water.
FOLIAGE - Betel leaves are the leaf of the betel plant which is an evergreen and
perennial creeper
APPLICATION -
*FUNCTIONAL - Betel leaves are used as a stimulant, an antiseptic, and a
breath-freshener, whereas areca nut was considered as aphrodisiac. Chewing habits of
people have changed over time. The betel leaves are chewed together in a wrapped
package along with areca nut and mineral slaked lime.

*ENVIRONMENTAL - Betel leaf plant grows well under shade with low light intensity,
mild temperature (15 to 30ºC), high humidity with 2250 to 4750 mm annual rainfall.

*CLIMATIC : Increases Air Humidity.
