us, that there are at least 57
(English version states that
there are only 11... >.>)
Of course you would like to
hear about each and every
one of them, but We decided,
that only three best directors
are enough to represent main
features of Lithuanian
cinema.
 Jonas Mekas
Jonas Mekas born December
24th, 1922 in the village of
Semeniškiai, near Biržai.
Lithuanian filmmaker, writer, and
curator who has often been called
"the godfather of American avant-
garde cinema." His work has been
exhibited in museums and
festivals across Europe and
America.
He has made more than 50
movies.
Jonas Mekas is currently working
in USA.

 Arūnas Žebriūnas
Arūnas Žebriūnas was born in
1931 on 8th of August in Kaunas.
He is a famous movie director
and an author of at least a few
scenarios. His debut was as an
artists assistant while making first
Lithuanian movies.
His filmography consists of 20
movies, it is hard to find a
Lithuanian who wouldn’t know his
famous musical “Devil’s Bride” or
first Lithuanian tragicomedy “Nut
Bread”.

 Tadas Vidmantas
We also have a lot of
promising young directors.
With Lithuanian movies you
can be acquainted on
Internet and sometimes
even in cinema. The third
person we will represent
today is known by almost
all Lithuanian youth. It's
Tadas Vidmantas “the
Internet man of the year
2009”.
Tadas Vidmantas
Tadas Vidmantas was
born in November 1985 in
Sirvintos, Lithuania. 18
years after that discovered
that making short movies is
his favorite thing.
He is known for series of
short humoristic movies,
on-line advertising and web
comedy show "Knights".
One of his short movies
was shown at Peking 2008
Olympic games opening.
