About Guys and Dollies:

Guys and Dollies is a complete summer storage service. Since 2009, Guys and Dollies has
helped students save time and money by making their move simple and stress-free! Here’s how it
works: Guys and Dollies will deliver free boxes to any student wanting to use our storage
services and then come back and pick up the student’s items during move out week in May. The
items are stored for the summer months and then delivered back to the student when school starts
in the fall.

Most Purdue students leave West Lafayette for the summer months however Guys and Dollies is
still operating all summer long. During the summer months we will also pick up or deliver
student’s items that are taking summer school classes. We help students move from one
apartment to another in the middle of the summer if they are changing leases as well as storing
items between when apartment leases end and begin.

Summer 2021 Guys and Dollies Internships:

Start: We can start using help at the beginning of finals week which starts May 3rd.

End: We will have appointments all the way until August 22, 2021.

We are seeking Summer Interns to assist in the management and operations of storage, shipping
and moving activities. From these positions, you will learn how to run a business through hands
on experience. Advertising, marketing, managing, customer service and many other aspects of a
start-up business come to life. The ideal candidates are ones with an entrepreneurial spirit,
looking to grow their communication and people skills, a positive attitude and teamwork
mindset, and planning to stay local in the West Lafayette area during the summer months. Past
interns have taken summer classes and have enjoyed the flexible schedule that our internship
offers. This is a salary based position with hours that very week to week. There are also multiple
bonus opportunities depending on how much the individual would like to put into this position.

If you already have a summer commitment for a couple weeks but are looking for a position for
the rest of the summer we would love to talk to you. Your work load will vary a lot depending on
the week throughout the summer. The months of May and August will be very busy for Guys
and Dollies. On the contrary, June is our slowest month of the summer.

Start and end times are flexible; however there will be Guys and Dollies work during that whole
time period mentioned above. We can talk through this part to see what availability looks like.
Major Responsibilities:
 Organize Marketing and Advertising campaigns on campus
 Be the face for Guys and Dollies at Purdue
 Assist in managing and training labor force
 Customer service: emailing and phone calls
 Schedule and plan logistics around moving customers, pickup and delivery of items
 Completing pickup, delivery and moving appointments throughout the summer
 Work with branch managers on various projects

firsthand. This person or persons will gain a better understanding of how a small business works

Candidates should have the following characteristics:

 -Self-motivated and a willingness to take initiative on any project with the ability to learn
 -Be able to work in fast-paced environment
 -Possess a positive, can-do attitude
 -Be able to manage their time well and be organized
 -Live in the Purdue area for the summer 2021
 -Lift 70 pounds
 -Ability to drive a box truck
 -Valid Driver’s License
