The Libya “Taqarib” project It strengthens the foundation of a more unified
Libyan state by empowering local governments, reinforcing community bonds, and improving people’s standard of living. Taqarib helps citizens engage in public dialogue, prioritize public resource allocations, and understand the roles and responsibilities of local government. The project links enhancements to service delivery at the municipal level with national efforts to improve the execution of decentralization policy, and with efforts to undertake evidence-based reform.
This project consists four main themes and it works together to
provide the best service to the local institutions and municipalities.Moreover, they interact with each other to achieve the project objectives.

1-First objective :Improvement of municipal service :
Through this axis that provide a range of municipal service that could support close technically and professionally on the targeted municipalities that range role groups have defined service in accordance to its standardised needs .Furthermore,The project works In cooperation with municipalities to design implementation of strategies In service delivery across local countries. Taqarab Project staff will work they're a group of qualified personnel in the same workplace that provide technical consultancy for municipalities and related governmental authorities. The project will use a template for measuring performance and the functional capacity for the targeted municipalities.
Second Objective : strengthen local civil society
Taqarib engages local communities and community organizations to ensure that citizens have a voice in prioritizing and monitoring the expenditure of public resources. The project also acknowledges that, at times, the ways and means of improved service-delivery can be unpopular in the short term. Taqarib therefore partners with community organizations to generate public support for solutions like local revenue generation, public-private partnerships, city-to-city collaboration, and other tools that are important for achieving long- term, sustainable development.
Third Objective :working on improving laws and the policy that is
related to the local government to enhance decentralization. Through this scope Taqarab will work with governmental authorities and civil society specialized in this major to present law proposals to improve the laws policy that related to the local government especially law 59 implementing regulation 130.As well, Taqareb works to ensure recent local municipalities receive strong support from project strategy to improve municipality service. Providing that the project will bring network support to the elected women to enforce their role and to activate women participation in the local government .
