TOK Class work for Cycle 28 D1 L9 (date 28/4/21)

The experiment Calculate the moisture content of the soil by subtracting the weight of the
dry soil from the weight of the moist soil

[The sheeps are grazing on just one part of the eld]

Look closely at the picture pasted above. You may observe that the sheeps are grazing more on one
part of the land than the other. You may also notice that some parts of the land are rockier, some
parts are steeper, and the type of grass appears different in different areas. The sheep also seem to
be focused on a particular spot which possibly has water.

●  Identify the variables. Develop a speci c question and list some possible hypotheses.

Ans : The variables might be temperature, number of sheep and water.

●  Evaluate your hypotheses and select one that you could test.

And : Why the grass in one part is green? In this case we can have a test of Water content

●  Plan an experiment that could test your hypothesis.

Ans : The experiment Calculate the moisture content of the soil by subtracting the weight of the
dry soil from the weight of the moist soil

●  Ensure that the plan for the experiment is likely to provide useful and suf cient data.
