1 Introduction
This is a handbook of how to mount an IED case in the 19-inch rack and shows the dimensions
of all IED cases. The IED cases are categorized into 1/1 size case (full width of the 19-inch rack),
3/4 (third-fourths width of the 1/1 size case), 1/2 (a half one of that), 1/3 (one-thirds one of that).

When the 1/1 size case of the IED is mounted in the 19-inch rack, the IED case can be simply
placed in the rack. If the 3/4, 1/2 or 1/3 size case is required to be placed in the rack, a mounting
kit can adjust the case width to fit the 19-inch rack. This handbook, furthermore, illustrates
how to combine parts of a mounting kit with the IED.

This handbook also shows guides of cable work in conjunction with the above. Since the GR200
series consist several models, this handbook illustrates users a cable work example as a
representative one.

2 Mounting IED in 19-inch rack

1/1 size case
2.1.1 Case dimension
There are two types of terminal structures in the 1/1 size case of an IED.

The former is ‘compression plug type terminal’ and its IED case structure is called ‘Type using
compression terminals’. The dimension of that is shown in Figure 2.1-1.

The latter is ‘ring type terminal’ and it is called ‘Type using ring terminals’. The dimension is
shown in Figure 2.1-2.

2.2.2 Procedure for 3/4 size case mounting

The case width is three-fourths width of the 1/1 size case. Accordingly, it must combine with
parts of a mounting kit (EP-206), which is ordered separately to mount for the 19-inch rack.

Table 2.2-1 shows the inclusion parts of EP-206 and the appearances of the parts are illustrated
in Appendix.

2.3.2 Procedure for 1/2 size case mounting

The case width is a half width of the 1/1 size case. Accordingly, it must combine with parts of
a mounting kit (EP-204 or 205), which is ordered separately to mount for the 19-inch rack.

Table 2.3-1 shows the inclusion parts of EP-204 and 205 and the appearances of the parts are
illustrated in Appendix.
