SYSTEM FIXED CREW OXYGEN

We say that the system fixed crew oxygen is used by the

member of the flight crew under the following conditions:

- Depressurization brutal

- Smoke or noxious gas emissions.

This source of oxygen supplied to the crew through three

oxygen masks in case demand for the brutal
depressurization or smoke or noxious gas emissions.
In the latter case, the crew can smoke goggles.

CYLINDER OVERPRESSURE. PRESS REGULATOR (3HT)

The cylinder overpressure safety port and the low pressure

stage over pressure safety port of the HP
regulator/transmitter are connected by flexible hoses, to a
discharge indicator flush with the fuselage skin.

The discharge indicator comprises a green plastic blow-out

disc, visible from outside the aircraft, which is ejected from its
housing when subjected to any pressure exceeding 1.38 bars
(20 psig), revealing the yellow color inside the indicator body.

SYSTEM CREW

The system crew fixed oxygen is supplied by an oxygen

cylinder located inside the flight chamber.

This cylinder also allows the system fixed passenger oxygen

supplied.

One piece of HP controller / transmitter assembly is directly

connected to the oxygen cylinder.

Limited to high pressure in the inlet connector and the

corresponding stage regulator.

An overpressure of HP and LP security system is connected

to a discharge indicator, which is visible from outside the
aircraft.

There are three distribution systems that are connected to

distribution manifold located at the rear of the flight deck, in
the left side, in front of the L electronics rack.

This serves to supply oxygen to:

- The captain of oxygen mask assembly line running along

the master console.

- The first officer and the 3rd Assembly of the occupants of

the oxygen mask, the lines that pass through the flight
compartment floor.

- Carrier.

The system is composed or rigid pipes. Bond between the

The oxygen flow is controlled through the pressure

regulator.

The oxygen flow supplies each oxygen mask.

With an input pressure of 70 PSI (4,8 bar, in normal
temperature = 21º C and pressure= 1013 mbar), the oxygen
flow is:
-0,7 l/mn at 10000ft
-1,7 l/mn at 25000ft.

PRESS REGULATOR (5100WR).

The altitude compensating regulator feeds

oxygen boxes in case of rapid depressurization of
the passengers compartement.

The oxygen compensator regulates the pressure

in the distribution pipes such that the reuied
oxygen flow depending of the cabin altitude is
correctly assumed by each masks. It operates
between 25000ft and 10000ft cabin altitude.

Note: Because of the cabin altitude compensating

regulators, passengers oxygen supply isn´t
available on ground (oxygen regulators closed
