AmBisyon Natin 2040

AmBisyon Natin 2040 is the product of a lengthy and meticulous consultation

process. Representatives from the government, the academe, the private sector, and
civil society convened together to form the Advisory Committee. More than 300 citizens
participated in Focus Group Discussions and close to 10,000 answered the national
survey. The process also included extensive consultation meetings with specialists from
many sectors of development, which culminated in the preparation of technical papers
for each administration outlining clear objectives and milestones. Ambisyon Natin 2040
is primarily based on the realities of our stakeholders' visions and goals. To sum it up, it
depicts a middle-class Philippines where fundamental needs for a comfortable and
satisfying lives are satisfied. The government  foresees a significant development
across the country by 2040, including economic, human, and physical capital,
institutional, social, and cultural development. This translates to a life in which every
Filipino will be able to enjoy and utilize good transport facilities provided by the
government, a house of their own, and a financial capacity to travel and have vacation.
By 2040, we envision Filipinos to enjoy a matatag (strongly rooted), maginhawa
(comfortable) at panatag na buhay (secured). A strongly rooted lifestyle for Filipinos
means that everyone, especially for those who are working for their families, to have
work-life balance. They may spend meaningful time with their family on weekends and
holidays without worrying about losing their employment or facing salary reductions. As
connections and good relationships among neighbors and community authorities are
developed, there are also opportunities to serve and volunteer in the community. This is
linked to living a pleasant existence; in other words, Filipinos live in prosperity. They can
opt to live in a nice neighborhood with a nice house and with close proximity to hospitals
and parks. Because it is finally more convenient and inexpensive, and that public
transportation is preferred over private automobiles. Children can obtain a high-quality
education and grow up to be productive, patriotic citizens. They can get complete
support from their parents, teachers, and the community in order to reach their greatest
potential. Furthermore, parents can support their children’s education because they
have stable and secured jobs. Finally, Filipinos would feel safe in their homes because
they have total faith in the government's services. In the event of an emergency, they
have an emergency fund, life insurance, and medical insurance.
To achieve this vision, all sectors of society, whether public or private, should
direct their efforts towards creating opportunities for Filipinos to enjoy a matatag,
maginhawa at panatag na buhay. This pertains to all dimensions of development:
economic, human and physical capital, institutional, social and cultural. The kind where
everyone, regardless of their background and/or social status, has access to equal
opportunities in life. It stresses that the government must efficiently and effectively
utilize its tools of fiscal, monetary and regulatory policies to steer the development path
towards enabling Filipinos to attain their AmBisyon which can be complemented by
science, technology and innovation which must be funded and rightfully prioritized by
the government.
