Cogent’s three North American businesses now more than ever present a single face to the
market - Cogent Power Inc., a strong customer focused business, providing a complete
package of goods and technical services to the transformer, motor and generator industries.
Since the beginning of 2000, Cogent has made 5several important investments that
0
broaden the scope and reach of the company. In July of 2000, the core making facility in
Monterrey, Mexico was commissioned. In August of 2000, the acquisition of the
Kienle + Spiess Group, a leader in the stamped laminations industry, was completed.
Combined, the new company, Cogent Power Ltd, forms a unique business that offers
customers complete solutions, from steel through to components, design to delivery.
The Cogent name reflects the true international
25 nature of the company. With North
American manufacturing sites in Canada, USA and Mexico, Cogent’s strong presence forms
a significant part of an even larger global company. In total, Cogent provides products and
services from ten separate manufacturing sites, in seven countries, supporting the global
market for transformer, motor and generator components.
