SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR ORCHESTRA

(Students need these EVERY DAY)

1. Instrument/bow: in good working condition that meets minimum
standards
2. Rosin- must be hypoallergenic if your child is at Pecan Trail (jade, clarity,
or magic brand)
3. Shoulder rest: violins/violas only. Fully adjustable/collapsible versions
of the SUMI and KUN brand recommended. Adjustable/collapsible versions
of the FOM are possible alternatives. (NOT EVEREST)
4. Rock stop: cellos/basses only.
5. Essential Elements for Strings, Book 1 (5th) Book 2
(6th)
6. 1 folding wire stand: for practice at home. Proper posture and
position is compromised without one.
7. Cleaning cloth: soft cloth for cleaning instrument and bow.
8. 1” black three-ring binder: this is for orchestra use only for storing
music, method book and other required supplies.
9. 1 package subject dividers
10. 1 three-ring pencil pouch
11. 2 pencils: students must have a functional pencil in class every day and are
penalized for not coming to class with one. Having two at all times helps prevent
this.
12. 1 highlighter: students use these to highlight important information in their
music and on other handouts.
13. Metronome/Tuner: There are dozens of free and cheap apps for desktops
and devices!

Please make sure that your child’s name is on ALL of his/her supplies.

Teacher wish list: box of pencils, post-it notes, hand sanitizer, tissues, clorox
wipes, dry erase markers, notebook paper, bandaids
