Dear students,

We are passing through an uncertain phase of life where regular routine has been disturbed in all spheres due to
the pandemic of Corona Virus. Your teachers have put their valuable contribution by keeping you engaged on
DHAES Portal through lessons, resources and assignments. Now is the time to do some reinforcement of the
taught concepts and get involved in independent working. Do the assigned tasks on registers or sheets in a
presentable manner.

Take care of yourself and your family. Stay home stay safe.

English
 Write a dialogue between you and someone who has been living in Lahore since long. Ask him to think
about all of the changes he has seen in this time.
 Write a paragraph of about 80-100 words about “Prevention is better than cure”.
Do refer to the current pandemic of Corona Virus.
 Write a letter to your cousin and share your experience of a journey by Train / Plane.
 Write summaries of the poems “The Ocean” and “The Twins”.
 Learn the glossary of chapter 1-5 and use these words in quality sentences.
 Write translation of last three sentences from each exercise given on pgs. 75-83 of English Grammar
Composition book.

Mathematics

Task 1: Workout Ch#5: Polynomials and Ch#6: Factorization, Simultaneous Equations write down
important points, definitions and formulae. Work out at least ten True/False, MCQs from each
chapter separately to carry out after summer vacation in your class.
Task 2: Solve the questions on separate Notebook

 Learn all the concepts care fully


 Make a power point presentation on the sources and effects of heat
 Identify from your surroundings at least twenty objects which make use of concave and convex
lenses.
 Develop at least 20 MCQs from each chapter of physics in your syllabus.
 Develop at least 10 short questions and their answers from each chapter of physics in your
syllabus.

Biology
 Revise and learn complete chapters 1 and 2 from book and learn all chapter questions.

 Make 10 M.C.Qs from each chapter 1 and 2 and write them in your notebooks.

 Draw, label and learn the diagrams of a neuron, sensory and motor neuron, reflex arc, excretory system,
internal structure of a kidney, nephron, Bowman ’s capsule, dialysis machine, stages of mitosis and meiosis in
your summer notebooks.

 Make a table of differences between the mitosis and meiosis cell division.

 Use the internet to search how long is a DNA molecule present in a single cell of a human and how long
is the total DNA of all cells combined. Write your answer in your summer notebooks.

 Go online to play some science games. Write the following link given in your internet browser. A list of
topics will open up. Select the topic related to your curriculum and click on it to open up the games to play.

 Task 2: Read chapter ‘Natural Disaster’. As per the topics discussed in the chapter, in online
lectures, do the following:
‘Disaster Management Activity: A major disaster that struck major areas of Pakistan. Follow
the guidelines provided below and prepare a handbook accordingly.
How to do it:
1. Prepare a handbook (20’x 15’) of 10 pages. (20 sides) .
2. It should be hand written. Print outs not permitted.
3.It should include the following details:
 Brief introduction about a disaster.
 Causes of the disaster.
 Areas prone to disaster (represented on a political map of Pakistan.
 Damage or destruction
 Drawings/illustrations of the equipments used during rescue operations (oxygen, torches, etc.)
 First aid checklist required for the particular disaster.
