10 Things You Didn't Know About Lucifer Season 6

Lucifer is one of Netflix's most famous shows, and it's nothing short of a prized
possession for the streaming giant. Until the series comes to an end, every viewer
becomes a fan. Following the recent release of the fifth season, viewers were concerned
about whether or not they would be able to see more seasons of the show.

The fantasy series, which involves Lucifer, a.k.a. the devil, as he leaves Hell for a career
as a cop in Los Angeles, has been a fan favorite since its debut in 2016, but it will soon
come to an end with its sixth and final season.

So, what does the future hold for the Prince of Lies and his earthbound companions?
Let's get started. The devil, after all, is in the details...

1. What is Lucifer Season 6 Netflix's renewal status?

Season 6 of Lucifer was never supposed to happen due to the pandemic. The Netflix
revival of the series, which began in season four and ended in season five, was supposed
to be the final season. That's one of the reasons the show was split into two parts and
given a second season.

With this, fans were upset when Netflix gave season 5 the final season order, as it had
given Lucifer new life just to take it away two seasons later. It sparked campaigns and
petitions, with over 100,000 signatures for its renewal.

Early in 2020, rumors circulated that Netflix had reversed its decision and was looking
to renew season 6, but only after everyone had signed on. Ildy Modrovich and Joe
Henderson extended their contract for a sixth season in late February 2020.

After further talks in April 2020, the second revival seemed to be less likely as Tom Ellis'
contract negotiations fell through. However, they were resolved and Tom Ellis was
signed in May 2020.

The first time we heard of Netflix changing its mind was in February 2020, when the
company was in negotiations with Warner Brothers Television to renew the show.
Season 6 was publicly announced on June 23rd, 2020, with the caveat that it will be the
final FINAL season.

Therefore, with several high-profile promotions and the fact that Lucifer continues to
break records, fans triumphed and the show was renewed once more.
2. When will the sixth season of Lucifer begin filming?

The final day of shooting of Lucifer Season 6 has been completed, according to Tom Ellis
on his Twitter account. This is something exciting for the fans, but after recording there
is still a lot of work to be done. So, more patience is highly recommended for the
followers of this series to finally see Lucifer season 6.

3. When is the release date of Lucifer Season 6?

Although the filming is already finished, the crew behind the scenes must now work
their magic! This means that editing has begun, but to achieve an excellent output they
believe their work cannot be rushed. If season 5 premieres in late May 2021, then
Lucifer season 6 could air six months later, and that's probably in November 2021, or a
year later, in May 2022.

4. Who is coming back for Lucifer Season 6?

There will be no 'Lucifer' without Tom Ellis, and fortunately, he is as thrilled as his fans
to be getting back the title role. Tom Ellis' continuing participation was a hot topic
online long before season six was announced. Finally, the rumor died down after it was
announced that he would be returning to the show.

Moreover, Ildy Modrovich, the show's screenwriter and showrunner, and Joe
Henderson extended their contract for a sixth season in late February 2020. This means
they are also on the series and the majority of the series' casts will also return. They are
as follows:

Lauren German as Chloe

Lesley-Ann Brandt as Maze

Rachael Harris as Linda Martin

Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez

Kevin Alejandro as Dan Espinoza

Scarlett Estevez as Trixie Espinoza

D.B. Woodside as Amenadiel

Besides, Scott Porter revealed in September 2020 that he would be joining the series for
seasons 5 and 6. Scott is best known for his appearance in Friday Night Lights, but he
has also appeared in Speed Racer and will star in the Netflix drama Ginny & Georgia.
Aside from Porter, in October 2020 new additions to the cast list have been announced.
Chris Coy (as Alan), Rob Zabrecky (as Horace Goldfinger). Chris Coy is a television actor
who has appeared in shows such as The Duece, The Front Runner, and Detroit. He'll be
playing Alan in the film. Rob Zabrecky is an actor who has appeared in films such as A
Ghost Story, Lost River, and Criminal Minds. He'll play Horace Goldfinger in the film.

Then in December 2020 additional castings were mentioned that include Merrin
Dungey (as Sonya), Brianna Hildebrand (as Rory), and Mandy June Turpin (as Mandy
June Turpin) are among the cast members (as Dr. Jessica LaMotte). Sonya will be
played by Dungey, who is known for Alias. Rory will be played by Hildebrand, who is
best known for his role in Deadpool.

However, since we haven't even seen season five, part two yet, there is no assurance that
any of those characters will return for the final episode. If the show enters its final
stretch, disaster could hit, bringing any of the show's characters with it. We also know
that Henderson will appear at some point in the future, but we don't know when. For
episode nine, 'Goodbye, Lucifer,' Alejandro will also be in the director's chair.

5. What will happen in Lucifer Season 6?

Henderson and Modrovich almost declined to do a sixth season at first. However, in the
extra episodes that they have shoot, they were able to delve deeper than ever into the
show's mythology and examined how their characters ended up where they did. Hence,
season six will feature "one big plot" that "really needed to be heard," according to
Modrovich.

Since then, the two have spoken about their plans to include real-world social problems
in the final season.

According to executive producer Mike Costa, the announcement that Netflix had signed
off on the sixth season fixed a major plot challenge that the showrunners were facing in
season five. Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson have realized that they were sort of
rushing the end of the show.

Meanwhile, the show's writers have been keeping 'Lucifans' amused by teasing
upcoming episode titles on the official Lucifer Writer's Room Twitter account during the
midseason break. Their most recent hint announced that the penultimate episode will
be titled 'Goodbye, Lucifer,' which has thrown viewers for a loop.

6. When will the trailer for Lucifer Season 6 be released?

Season 6 is currently in production, but the official trailer would likely take a few
months longer to arrive. We're still also waiting for Netflix to release the teaser for
Season 5 Part B.
7. How many episodes will Lucifer Season 6 have?

After a TV Line article claimed that Lucifer season 6 would only have eight episodes, it
was later debunked by DB Woodside, who stated that season 6 would have a total of ten
episodes. This was also confirmed by the showrunner Joe Henderson, the sixth and final
season of Netflix's supernatural series Lucifer will consist of ten episodes.

The Lucifer Writers account has been steadily teasing the titles of the new episodes for
Season 6. So far, the following have been announced:

S6 Ep1: Nothing Ever Changes Around Here

S6 Ep2: Buckets of Baggage

S6 Ep3: Yabba Dabba Do Me

S6 Ep4: Pin the Tail on the Baddie

S6 Ep5: The Murder of Lucifer Morningstar

S6 Ep6: A Lot Dirtier Than That

S6 Ep7 – My Best Fiend

S6 Ep8 – Save the Devil, Save the World

S6 Ep9 – Goodbye, Lucifer

S6 Ep10 (Season & series finale) – Partners 'Til the End

It's a little disappointing that Lucifer's final season will have fewer episodes than Season
5, but we'll take what we can get. Season 5 was expected to be the series' final season,
but due to ongoing talks, Netflix decided to give the show a little more time to say
farewell.

8. Has Season 5's plot changed now that Lucifer has been renewed?

Joe Henderson was asked if the ending of Season 5b would be revised now that Netflix
has announced the sixth season. During an interview, he stated that it will stay the same
as expected, and it was extremely important for them to keep the plot.

Season 5B will show its fans how Seasons A and B are one big season and how it all
connects.
9. Is Lucifer going to appear in Netflix's The Sandman?

As you might be aware, Netflix is currently working on The Sandman, which will star
Tom Ellis as Lucifer, and many have speculated that he will reprise his role. However, it
was announced in January 2021 that they would be moving in a different direction,
casting Gwendoline Christie in the role.

10. Lucifer Series is based on a comic book character.

Lucifer is based on the Sandman comic book character Lucifer Morningstar, created by
Neil Gaiman. The parallels, however, begin and end with the character's name. Ellis
does not resemble the character from the comic book.

That's everything that you need to know so far about Lucifer season 6, which will
premiere on Netflix in the coming years. If you're excited, let us know in the comments.
