Subject: Mathematics Unit Topic: Transformation 2

Teacher: Mr. Samuel Ack School: Julian Cho Technical High School
Class: 4th Formers Duration: Feb. 4 - 29, 2008 (4 wks)

Introduction:
It is import that students learn the different transformations use in everyday life. In addition it will enhance students’ abilities
for the ATLIB exam and CXC exams.

Rationale:
At the end of the unit plan students will understand the fundamentals of transformations. Students will do graphing of these
transformations. They will use matrices to find angles of rotation, center of enlargement and axis of reflection.

Unit Goals:
1. To define transformation, translation, reflection, rotation, enlargement and glide reflection.
2. To list the various types of translation
3. To illustrate the reflection in various axis of reflection
4. To use matrix to find the centre of enlargement and rotation.
