1 Logo of Laguna and PDA National In the public service of Lagunenses, countless projects
have been implemented since its foundation in
February 4th 1961. Since time immemorial, the
advocacies have been giving access to oral services,
public education on oral health, and providing quality
dental services. This is the Philippine Dental
Association Laguna Chapter Incorporated.

2 “Laguna Dental Health’ Founded in 1961 by Dr. Ruben Loyola of Biñan, the
“Laguna Dental Society” initial name of the Chapter is Laguna Dental Health. Dr.
Bienvenido Erana in 1962 renamed it to Laguna Dental

society, Philippine Dental Association.
3 During the term of Dr. Felix Virtucio in 1966 the
scientific seminars for continuing dental education
started. In 1967, the LDS had their first woman

(pronounced as Elazigi). By 1968, Dr. Antonio Baldemor
made the scientific seminars quarterly instead of once a

12 In 2003, Dr. Ma (pronounced as Maria) Cecilia Alcaraz

17 In 2020 when the pandemic and community lockdown
happened, Dr. Sheryl Anne Rose Lantican’s presidency
became as productive as the previous presidencies. In
Dr. Lantican’s term, the Government of Laguna signed

And now on its Diamond White Anniversary and 44th
Chapter president, we celebrate the SIXTY DIVERSE,
DYNAMIC, and DRIVEN years of the Philippine Dental
Association Laguna Chapter Incorporated.

The logo takes the shape of a diamond, the hardest

known natural substance. It’s an emblem of purity and
perfection.
Dagdag logo bilog The laurel leaves mean victory. In Ancient Greek, it’s
awarded to victors in the Olympics and poetic
competitions; while used to crown a successful
commander in Rome. Thus, in the Logo, these 8 Leaves
signifies our 8 Victorious Dental clubs.
At the heart of the logo is the owl that represents
wisdom, endurance, and elegance. Owls are known as
nocturnal beings and infamous for their night vision.
They represent seeing what is hidden behind the
shadows and exposing the truth even when it is
cloaked in the darkest night.
The visual enigma of the owl also gives the illusion of a
bell. The bell creates a clear sound in the stillness of the
dark. At church when we hear the bells ring, it signals us
to come and gather. An invitation to engage and
participate.
The bell is also the symbol of Cabuyao City, the home of
the legendary Kampanang Ginto, where our 60th
founding anniversary president hails from.
And finally, the color palette is maroon and silver.
Maroon radiates vigor and passion. It’s a shade of blood
which represents life. Silver exudes sophistication,
glamor, and modernity. It’s the color of illumination
and reflection, of a soothing and calming energy that
balances the intensity of maroon.
The person behind our 60th founding anniversary logo is
the PDA Laguna Chapter’s 44th president, Dr. Mar David
“Dave” Antioquia. A true embodiment of strength and
tenacity amid havoc in COVID, he makes his term
productive and significant. Dr. Dave introduced the 1st
ever PDA Laguna Chapter Hymn in his first 30 days.
Composed and arranged by John Raphael Elemos and
sung by Dr. Dave Antioquia and Dr. Angela Marie
Mapolsa this is the PDA Laguna Chapter Hymn titled
Dentistang Laguna, Serbisyo’y Laging Una.
