SECOND WRITTEN WORK READING AND WRITING SKILLS

(FOURTH QUARTER)
Topic: Formulating Evaluative Statements
Goal: Write an opinion-editorial article that applies skills and knowledge on claim types and counterclaims.
Role: Write an Op-Ed that allows you to demonstrate an understanding of how issues relating Covid-19 and
the realization of the common good may be addressed by you in your academic practice and in your future
profession.
Situation: Our country has been experiencing a pandemic. It is your time to voice out your opinion. Make it
persuasive following the claims, types of claims and counterclaims. Since The Op-Ed should clearly explain to
readers what the issue or problem is, you do not have to come up with the definitive solution but provide a well-
argued view in order to move forward on the issue. The idea is to express your thoughts clearly and concisely
and make your argument as directly as you can. Not less than 1000 words should be computerized.
Referencing is needed.
Product, Performance, or Purpose: There will be a documentation of the performance task to be included in
your portfolio.
