SYLLABUS FOR
NATIONAL SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAM- Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS)
First Semester, A.Y. 2017-2018

I. COURSE TITLE

The National Service Training Program 1 (NSTP) Curricular Program for the Civic Welfare Training Service
(CWTS) and Literacy Training Service (LTS).

II. COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) and Literacy Training Service(LTS) of The National Service Training
Program (NSTP) are designed to encourage the youth to contribute to the improvement of the general welfare and
the quality life of Filipinos. These will require the students to carry out projects and activities contributory to the
general welfare and the betterment of life community members or the enhancement of its facilities, especially those
devoted to improving health, education, safety, livelihood, environment, entrepreneurship, recreation, moral,
patriotism, and nationalism of the citizenry and other social welfare services. This course also aims to empower
them to become potent resources for community resources.

V. Course Objectives
A. General Objective:
At the end of the semester, the students are expected to:
1. Understand the significance of NSTP act 2001 or RA 9163.
2. Acquire relevant information, know how. Life skills and value pertaining
to the various dimension of development.
3. Understand social mobilization for community development.
4. Realize their potential as youth leader who will spur development in
underserved communities.
5. Internalize the meaning of citizenship and leadership values necessary
for community involvement.

X. CLASSROOM POLICIES

 Please treat other students, the instructor, and guests with courtesy and respect.
 15 minutes late are accepted.
 Attendance is strictly check.
 Bigotry or prejudices of any kind will not be tolerated.
 Listen when others are speaking.
 Do your best to be on-time for class. If you are late, enter quietly.
 For the courtesy of others, including the instructor, put cell phones and other noise makers on silent mode or turn
them off. If you need to take a call, for some urgent or emergency reason, then let the instructor know and then
answer the call outside of the classroom.
 Do not disrupt the classroom.
 No food in the classroom and drinks only in a spill-proof container.
 Maintain the cleanliness and regulation inside the classroom.
 Cheating is NOT allowed.

XI. SUCCESS TIPS:
