STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I want to join the ‘Placement Committee’ to firstly take on leadership roles which require a
certain level of responsibility, in the institution. I want to have the exposure of being able to lead
and manage in pressure situations and test my competencies as a future manager. But most
importantly, I want to join the ‘Placement Committee’ to widen my learning horizon in terms of
how communication and the aspects of communicating works in the corporate sector. The chance
to get firsthand experience of dealing with big corporates is something which I cannot ignore at
all and attracts me to the fullest. Moreover, I’d also like to be the point of contact between
academic/placement opportunities and the students – my fellow classmates. I’d like to put my
abilities to practice and make sure there are no communication gaps or hindrances in terms of
that and eventually provide better placement opportunities which is the end goal. I believe I am a
committed individual with high social acuity, emotional stability, and awareness all of which is
required to deal in pressurized situations, especially in a committee like this. I am also a good
negotiator and can communicate my ideas effectively both of which again are essential towards
the working in this committee. Maintaining social networks is something which I focus and
prioritize in, which makes me more suited. I am an empathetic, robust, and compassionate person
and like to cater to every one’s needs, another requirement for working in this committee. My
previous leadership roles are not vast in nature they include president of the drama club and I’ve
also been involved in the singing club during my school/college life but the drive to be in more
higher roles like this further acts as my motivation to apply.
