REFLECTION PAPER

There are a lot of things I learned from this topic. First thing is that all communities
value education for their children. Families either have power to take command and use it for
the wellbeing of their children’s education or outsiders exploit and dominate those who are
powerless and leave them worse off. Education as one of the public goods, therefore, must
not only be valued by the community and the people, but must be advanced and protected or
preserved. This is the responsibility of all community role players, stakeholders as well as
educational institutions. Education is at the heart of reconciliation, reconstruction and nation
building programs.
I also learned about the concepts of learning behavior. At a glance, andragogy refers
to the methods and approaches used in adult education and is directed towards self-
actualization, gaining experience, and problem-solving. In contrast, pedagogy is an education
method in which the learner is dependent on the teacher for guidance, evaluation, and
acquisition of knowledge.
This subject also tackled about the different learning theories. Although there are
many different approaches to learning, there are three basic types of learning theory:
behaviorist, cognitive constructivist, and social constructivist. This section provides a brief
introduction to each type of learning theory. The theories are treated in four parts: a short
historical introduction, a discussion of the view of knowledge presupposed by the theory, an
account of how the theory treats learning and student motivation, and, finally, an overview of
some of the instructional methods promoted by the theory is presented.
Social learning theory was also discussed. Social learning theory suggests that social
behavior is learned by observing and imitating the behavior of others. Psychologist Albert
Bandura developed the social learning theory External link as an alternative to the earlier work
of fellow psychologist B.F. Skinner, known for his influence on behaviorism. While behavioral
psychology focuses on how the environment and reinforcement affect behavior, Bandura put
forth that individuals can learn behavior through observation.
Also, I learned a lot about inclusive education. Inclusive education is when all students,
regardless of any challenges they may have, are placed in age-appropriate general education
classes that are in their own neighborhood schools to receive high-quality instruction,
interventions, and supports that enable them to meet success in the core curriculum
