Learning Competency: Describe the main functions of the major organs.

I. Learning Objectives
A. Content Standards Demonstrate understanding of how the major
internal organs such as the brain, heart, liver,
stomach, bones and muscles keep the body
healthy.
B. Performance Standards Construct a prototype model of organism that has
body parts which can survive in a given
environment.
C. Objective Describe the function of the muscles and bones.
D. Indigenized Learning Describe the functions of the muscles and bones
Objective in performing “Sigay Pasengku (thanksgiving
dance) of the Eastern Subanen”.
II. Subject Matter Major Organs of the Human Body- Lesson 14:
Bones and Muscles
A. Concepts A. Bones provide structures of the body
designed to support the body, enable movement
and protect some body part while muscles are
attached to these bones. There are different
types of bones that protect other organs in our
body. These bones protect the brain, heart,
lungs, liver, vertebrae or backbone and pelvis or
pelvic bone.
B. “Sigay Pasengku” is a dance performed as
thanksgiving to God for the abundant farm
harvest of Eastern Subanen.

IV. Learning Task

A. Engagement 1. Let all pupils gather in a particular class


venue to witness an activity.
2. Show a video clip of Sigay Pasengku dance
where elder or member of the community
performs the dance.

B. Elicitation 1. The teacher/elder asks the pupils about


parts of the body used in performing the
dance with the following questions:
a. Which part of the body is/are used in
performing Sigay Pasengku?
b. What constitute the legs, arms, hands,
toes,knees etc.?
C. Exploration 1. The learners will perform the dance on
Sigay Pasengku by group of 3

importance of this dance in their practice.
