1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 PURPOSE OF PROJECT SCOPE STATEMENT
Drone for Medical Solution project SCOPE STATEMENT documents and tracks the
necessary information required by decision maker(s) to approve the project for funding. The
project scope statement includes the needs, scope, justification, and resource commitment
as well as the project’s sponsor’s decision to proceed or not to proceed with the project. It
is created during the Initiating Phase of the project. Future benefits of this project are
implementation of the same in many more pharmacies across the globe. And as a pioneer in
this technology Dronetech is going to make its pride.
The intended audience of Drone for Medical Solution project SCOPE STATEMENT is the
project sponsor’s and senior leadership.
1.2 PROJECT IDENTIFICATION
PROJECT NAME: Drone for Medical Solutions
PROJECT IDENTIFICATION: VERSION 1.0
2 BACKGROUND
DroneTech out of San Francisco, CA has announced that they are looking for a new
relationship with a drugstore company to launch a product delivery system nationwide. This
delivery system will enable people to have pharmaceutical prescriptions and drugstore items
delivered to their homes using drones. Wilmont’s has decided to work with DroneTech to
create a business solution using four pharmacies in the local area. This will be a non-city
environment consisting of suburban homes and small business’s. The project will begin on
January 5 2018 and the first customer delivery flight should be achieved by November 30
2018. This project should take no more than a year to complete. The project budget is set at
$1.75M.
3 BUSINESS OBJECTIVE AND BUSINESS CASE
3.1 BUSINESS OBJECTIVE
The objectives of the Drone for Medical Solution project are as follows:
 Identify and obtain necessary project team resource approvals
 Develop the Operational requirements to implement the system
 Develop Wilmont’s online order entry system modification that will allow customers in
the San Francisco area to register their willingness to have a drone deliver their orders
by means of online entry or smartphone entry.
 Develop a segment of the system to allow Wilmont’s management to approve the
customer and send a confirmation to the customer.
 Develop security options for all systems that will safeguard the data as it is stored
within your company and as it is exchanged with DroneTech.
 Develop forms of communications for customers electronically through email, online
and mobile alerts as the customer requests.
 Develop Interface to the DroneTech Corporation for its order entry, delivery
confirmation and mobile application software.

 Create reports for Wilmont’s management to provide information on sales, customer

reactions and key performance indicators that senior management will define.
3.2 PROJECT SCOPE DESCRIPTION
Wilmont Pharmaceuticals will need to create modifications to the existing system for online
order entry to allow customers in the San Francisco area to register their willingness to have
drone delivery of their orders by a means of online entry or smartphone entry. The system
will contain a segment to allow Wilmont’s management to approve the customers and send
confirmation for this service. The system should provide a means of communication
electronically through email online and mobile alerts as the customer requests. There will
need to be an Interface to the DroneTech Corporation for its order entry, delivery
confirmation and mobile application software. Wilmont will Develop security options for
all systems that will safeguard the data as it is stored within the company, and as it is
exchanged with DroneTech. The system modifications will collect information from the
customers who are approved in the San Francisco area allowing them to receive their
drugstore items and prescriptions by drone delivery. The information stored in the system
will be used to create reports for Wilmont’s management to provide information on sales,
customer reactions and key performance indicators that senior management will define to
help improve overall quality and performance of the system. The system will provide
customers with the option to have their prescriptions and drugstore items delivered to them
through flying drones. Wilmont Pharmaceuticals is joining with DroneTech to create a safer
and easier way to deliver its products by taking advantage of this opportunity. This will
create a more efficient way for people to receive their products. By using the old system and
having DroneTech use their technology to create a less costly means of delivery and attract
more customers in the area creating more profit.

10.1 PROJECT INTEGRATIONS
 Train the necessary users on the functionality of the modified system and the roles and
responsibilities associated with the modified system
 Provide manuals to all trained personnel who will be using the system as a guide.
 Implement full functionality of system linked to DroneTech Infrastructure.
10.2 QUALITY MANAGEMENT
Have stakeholders identify which quality requirements and standards are relevant to the
project and incorporate the quality standards into the project design such as:
 System growth
 Reasonable response time for system
 Ensure the system produces consistent and accurate information.
 Get standards for customer support and hardware replacements
 Ensure good Functionality of the overall system by performance checks to make sure the
intended function is correct.
 Clearly define System Outputs like the screen and reports for the system.
 Stakeholders will monitor performance by answering what volumes of data and
transactions should the system be capable of handling? How many simultaneous users
should the system be designed to handle? What is the projected growth rate in the
number of users? What type of equipment will the system run on? How fast must the
response time be for different aspects of the system under different circumstances?
 Ensure that the system is able to function under normal conditions for Reliability
 Ensure that the system has Maintainability
