TOUR SCRIPT WRITING (BAGUIO CITY)

MORNING TOUR

Good morning my dear tourists! How was your breakfast at the hotel? Are you excited
for the tour? Well, this is the perfect time for our tour. By the way, I’m Shandia, your tour
guide for this moment and it’s my pleasure to be of service to you. On behalf of CNU
Tour Agency, I'd like to welcome you all to the City of Pines or commonly known as the
Summer Capital of the Philippines - Baguio City! Let's start our tour with a prayer.
(pray). By the way, I would like you to meet our driver Mr. Carlo, say hello to Mr. Carlo!
The bus ride to our first destination will take about thirty minutes. Let's have a
headcount first starting with you.. 1 2.. Okay we're all 30. Thank you for your
cooperation. Right now I’d like to take some time to inform you about brief safety
precautions. Always remember to S-M-I-L-E. Can I see your smiles? Very good. So S-
M-I-L-E for S, secure your personal belongings. Do not leave your things unattended.
For M, make sure you are with the group. If you want to leave, kindly inform me or the
other tour guides before doing so. For I, interact with the locals and the culture. So
everytime we move to another destination, you are given a time that you should be able
to talk with the people and explore the place. For L, leave the place clean as it is and for
E, enjoy the tour! So for us to enjoy the tour, we must keep in mind that safety is first
and everything must be timely. So if I say we need to go back to the tourist bus, at
12pm, we are all there. Understand? I have 2 things with me. First, I have a whistle, if
your here this sound, it means you to go explore the place. And if you see me waving
the flag, it means you should stop and pay attention. Is that clear my dear tourists?
Time check it's 7:00am. We will be arriving at our first destination 15 minutes from now.
While waiting, let me tell you some details about Baguio. Baguio is a mountain resort
city located in Benguet of Northern Luzon, Philippines. I highly recommend you to
attend their Panagbenga Festival on February. If you want to immerse yourself in
Baguio’s colorful and diverse culture, there’s no better time to visit than during the
Panagbenga Festival. Baguio City experience the temperature about 7 to 8 °C cooler
than the lowland with average temperatures ranging from 15 to 23 °C. Lowest
temperatures are recorded between November and February, making this a great
destination for those who want to escape the heat and humidity in Manila, especially
during the colder Christmas season. I highly recommend to bring with you a thick jacket
or sweater, and perhaps a pair of gloves, a bonnet, and a scarf during the whole tour
especially in the early morning and in the early evening. Go with sneakers instead of
open-toe footwear. Although it is still cold during the day, you can still break a sweat if
you’re walking around a lot. Hence, you also want to bring a light jacket for your noon
excursions. Now we have finally arrived at our first destination. Kindly fall in line in going
out from the bus. Don't forget to bring with you the necessities you need and be mindful
always of your belongings. Are you ready to explore with me? Well, let's get going.
Welcome to Burnham Park! This is the very heart of Baguio City in the Philippines. To
inform you, Burnham Park has no entrance fees. This has an area of 32.84 hectares.
This is a historical urban park with a small lagoon situated at the green space's center.
This park is ideal for tourists like you traveling with children and first-time visitors,
because of the family-friendly activities like biking and boating. You can enjoy boat rides
on rented rowboats if you want. Renting a boat for 30 minutes is P150.00. Just make
sure you know how to paddle. If not, you may ask for a boat staff to paddle for you.
Interestingly, fish species such as tilapia, carp, and koi thrive here. While the other
popular recreation that you can do here in Burnham Park is biking. It can be done or
can be found in the Burnham Lagoon. Bikes can be rented at P50-P75 for 30 minutes. If
you wanna try this, I would suggest that you do it early morning. During the afternoon,
the biking lane becomes overcrowded. And that doesn’t sound fun, right? To give you a
historical background, the park is named after an American architect named Daniel
Hudson Burnham. Baguio was then chosen by the Americans as a retreat area due to
its cool and fresh climate. No wonder why much of the city’s features showcase
American designs. If you'd like to visit in this park again soon, I would recommend you
to ride a Victory Liner bus bound to Baguio since it has hourly departures. Regular fare
from Manila to Baguio is P485. Upon reaching Baguio City, you can stroll your way to
Burnham Park since the Victory Liner station is just some 20 to 30 minutes of a hike
away. If not, you can just ride a taxi or book a Grab towards the park. It is just a few
minutes of ride and fare should be less than a hundred pesos. (Pause for a while,
assuming that the tourists are still enjoying and exploring the destination). My dear
tourists we are about to leave the 1st destination. Can I see your smiles? Very goood.
So now let's proceed to our second destination. Who want's to try horseback riding?
Well I bet you would love this next destination. Welcome to Camp John Hay. Here, you
can hike through the Camp’s pine tree-lined trail, check out their butterfly garden, go
horseback riding for P400 per hour, or get your adrenaline pumping by trying out their
canopy ride and zip-lines for P250 and P300. For your information, Camp John Hay
was formerly a rest and recreation facility for American soldiers. Promptly after being
turned over to the Philippine Government, it was developed into a tourist attraction and
open to all Filipinos and foreign tourists. (Pause for a while, assuming that the tourists
are still enjoying and exploring the destination). Time check it's 10:30am. We better
leave the destination. Are you still up for more? Okay so now let's proceed to our next
destination. It's just a few minutes from here to there. (Pause for a while, assuming that
the bus is still traveling to the next destination). Okay we're here! Welcome to Mines
View Park! For your information, Baguio was originally a mining town, and Mines View
Park is a constant reminder of that past. Mines View Park offers a front-row view of the
Cordillera Mountains and Benguet's gold and copper mines. You will also find several
shops selling succulents, flowers, bonsai, as well as woven, knitted, and wooden
souvenirs. You also have a chance to dress in Ifugao tribal outfits like bahag (loincloth),
vests, and headdresses, and hold shields and spears for photos here. You can also
have your strawberry taho here since there are a lot of taho vendors here.

AFTERNOON TOUR

Good afternoon dear tourists! How was your lunch? Time check it's 1:00pm. Are you
excited to explore more here in Baguio? So let's get started and always remember to S-
M-I-L-E! (Pause for a while, assuming that the bus is still traveling to the next
destination). Alright, we have finally arrived at our destination. Welcome to La Trinidad
Strawberry Farm! Here, you can enjoy the experience of harvesting strawberries during
the harvest season. The best time to visit in order to go strawberry picking is from
March to April. Aside from the strawberry farms, you will also find lovely flowers and
green, leafy vegetables in various farms. There’s no entrance fee to explore the farm,
but you have to pay a certain amount to pick the strawberries. Be sure to try the treats
like fresh Strawberry Ice Cream and Strawberry Taho sold by vendors at the farm.
(Pause for a while, assuming that the tourists are still enjoying and exploring the
destination). Attention everyone, it's time to get to the bus for we shall be going to
another destination. It will take us 3 hours to reach there. (Pause for a while, assuming
that the bus is still traveling to the next destination). We've just arrived at our next
destination. Who are beer lovers here? Well, this place is perfect for you. Welcome to
Baguio Craft Brewery. This home-grown watering hole serves fresh and unique craft
beers like Lagud Strawberry Beer, Rolling Fog Wheat Ale and Zigzagger IPA. If you’re
undecided on which beer to order, you can ask for one free taste of each beer selection.
Aside from their delightful artisan beers, Baguio Craft Brewery also offers beer and food
pairings that give the beer another dimension of taste. Another thing Baguio Craft
Brewery is proud of is that their brews do not contain additives and will not give you a
hangover. (Pause for a while, assuming that the tourists are still enjoying and exploring
the destination). Attention tourists, we need to go back to the bus. Time is up. We shall
be proceeding to our last destination for the day so make sure to spend it wisely. By the
way, how was your experience with the different beers? Are you satisfied? So our last
destination will be at the Good Shephered Convent. Who is fund of collecting souvenirs
right after anywhere they went? Well this place is perfect for you. Remember the Mine's
Park? It's just a stones' throw away from there. (Pause for a while, assuming that the
bus is still traveling to the next destination). We have finally arrived. Kindly fall in line in
going out from the bus. I welcome you all to the Good Shephered Convent. For your
information, this convent makes and sells one of the best Baguio delicacies. Good
Shepherd is acclaimed for its peanut brittle, ube, and strawberry jam. In fact, they have
become synonymous with Baguio pasalubong. They also sell baked goodies like
Lengua de Gato (butter cookies that resemble a cat’s tongue) and Alfajores (sweet
sandwich cookies), homemade ice cream, and strawberry-calamansi juice. Nuns and
volunteers from the international congregation of The Religious of the Good Shepherd
Sisters run the convent, with profits from Good Shepherd going to charity. Students of
the Mountain Maid Training Center and Development Inc. also create the products as
part of the congregation’s livelihood program to poor female students from Kalinga and
Bontoc. (Pause for a while, assuming that the tourists are still enjoying and exploring
the destination). Attention everyone! Your time is up and that concludes our tour. We're
going to be pulling up to the hotel in just a few minutes. I ask that you remain in your
seats until we have come to a complete stop. Mr. Carlo will be meeting us at the bus to
help you with your bags. Please double check to make sure your bag has been taken
off the bus. Thank you everyone, and on behalf of CNU Tour Agency, I wish you a
pleasant and memorable vacation here in Baguio! Have a safe trip and we're looking
forward to be of service to you again.
