General Instructions:
(i) The question paper comprises two sections A and B. There are 19 questions in the questionpaper. All
(ii) Section A questions are of 1 marks each. These questions contain multiple choice questions(MCQs),
very short answer questions. Answers to these should be given in one word or on sentence.
(iii) Section B questions are short and long answer type questions carrying 2 marks, 3 marks and5 marks.
(iv) Physics, Chemistry and Biology parts should be done in separate sheets and to be sent to therespective
teachers.

SECTION-A: OBJECTIVE TYPE QUESTIONS
Part I - PHYSICS
1. For a uniformly accelerated body with initial and final velocities as u and v m/s, the averagevelocity
is (1)
𝑣−𝑢
(a) u/2 (b) v/2 (c) 𝑢+𝑣 (d)
2 2
2. Area below v-t graph is a measure of (1)
(a) Acceleration (b) Displacement
5. In the following question, Assertion and Reason are put forward. Read the statements carefully and
choose the correct option from the following (1)
(i) Both Assertion and Reason are true and Reason is the correct explanation of Assertion.
(ii) Both Assertion and Reason are true, but Reason is not the correct explanation of
Assertion.
(iii) Assertion is true, but Reason is false.
(iv) Assertion is false, but Reason is true.
(v) Assertion and Reason both are false.
Reason. Speedometer is used for measuring various speeds in each time interval.
Part II - CHEMISTRY
6. The process in which solid directly converts into gaseous form is known as- (1)
7. We know that all particles of matter are always continuously moving and never at rest. At agiven
temperature in any gas liquid or solid there are particles with different amount of kinetic energy. In the
case of solids a small fraction of particles of the surface having higher kinetic energy is able to break
away from the force of attraction of other particles and get converted into vapour. This phenomenon of
change of a liquid into vapours at any temperature below itsboiling point is called evaporation. (1×4=4)
(i) Which of the following states have maximum kinetic energy between the particles?
(c) Gas (d) Particles of liquid and gas have same kinetic energy
(a) Evaporation
(b) Boiling
(c) Diffusion
(iv) Which state have maximum force of attraction between the particles?
(a) The movement of water across a semi permeable membrane is affected by the amount of
substances dissolved in it.
(b) Membranes are made of organic molecules like proteins and lipids.
(c) Molecules soluble in organic solvents can easily pass through the membrane.
(d) Plasma membranes contain chitin sugar in plants.
10. What does ATP stands for? Where is it synthesized in a cell? (1)
In each of the following questions, a statement of Assertion is given by the corresponding statement
of Reason. Of the statements, mark the correct answer as:
a) If both Assertion and Reason are true, and Reason is the correct explanation of Assertion.
b) If both Assertion and Reason are true, but Reason is not the correct explanation of Assertion.
c) If Assertion is true, and Reason is false.
d) If Assertion is false, but Reason is true.
e) If Assertion and Reason both are false.
Part I - PHYSICS
(ii) A car starts from rest and acquires a velocity of 54km/h in 2 minutes. Find (i) accelerationand (ii)
distance travelled by the car during this time. Assume, motion of the car is uniform.
Part II - CHEMISTRY
(a) Ice at 273 K more effective in cooling than water at the same temperature.
(b) With the help of an activity show that particles of matter are very small.
17. How is a bacterial cell different from an onion peel cell? (2)
19. Draw a plant cell and label the parts which: (3)
