2. CALCULATION OF BASE SHEAR

3. LOAD CALCULATION

i). Dead load:

Self weight of the structure (columns, beams) is automated by the software for the corresponding member sizes.

Dead load on the slab:

Thickness of the slab t = 150 mm

Weight of floor slab w = 3.75 kN/m²

Weight of floor finishes (assumed) wf = 1.00 kN/m²

Load due to partition walls (assumed) = 1.50 kN/m²

Total = 6.250 kN/m²


Dead load due to Wall :

Unit weight of brick masnory wb = 20 kN/m3

Width of wall bw = 0.23 m

Height of wall (Total height - Depth of beam)


(4.45m - 0.45m) hw = 4 m

4. ANALYSIS OF STRUCTURE

Analysis
(i). The building is a RCC framed structure with columns and beams of appropriate
section properties.

(ii). As the effect of wind load was found to be less than that of earthquake base shear,
wind load was not considered in the analysis.

(iii). A combination with load cases of self weight, live load and seismic load is used for
the design of members.
5.DESIGN OF PILE FOUNDATION
The analysis was carrried out for all pile groups. The typical design calculations are
furnished below from the analysis:
