A Directions: You will hear a recording twice. Before you listen to it, you will have 2

There’s nothing special about the Hicks – the family in the American TV show The Middle. But that’s why we love
them so much!
The main character is Frankie – the mum of the family. Frankie’s short and plump with long brown hair. She’s kind
and tries to help her family, but she hates cooking dinner - she’s just too tired! Frankie’s husband is Mike. He’s tall
with short grey hair. He’s hard-working and gets up early to go to work, but he doesn’t help around the home.
There are three children in the family. Axl is tall with long dark hair. He loves playing sports, but hates doing his
homework! Sue’s short and slim with brown hair. She’s funny, but it’s difficult for her to talk to people, so she
doesn’t have lots of friends. And last, there’s Brick. He’s very short with short hair. He’s loves reading and knows
lots of things!
The Hicks have a lot of funny adventures together. They sometimes have problems – but they always help each
other. Isn’t that what family is all about?
