PROJECT TITLE

Design and simulation of

three phase induction motor
At different load condition in
Matlab/simulink
ABSTRACT

 Three phase induction motors are invariably used in many residential,

commercial industrial and utility applications because of low cost, reliable
operation and low maintenance
 Multiphase motor drives with phase number greater than three phase leads
to an improvement in the medium to high power drives application
 The multiphase induction motor find application in special and critical area
where high reliability is demanded
INTRODUCTION
This presentation describes a step by step model of three
phase induction motor and its computer simulation using
matlab/ simulink. The model is based on two axis theory of
revolving frame transformation and takes power source and
load torque as inputs and gives speed ,electromagnetic
torque and stator current as the outputs.
LITERATURE SURVEY

 The main reason for rotational motion of the rotor in the induction
motor is because of the relative speed between the rotating
magnetic field created by three phase supply and rotor
 Synchronous speed Ns=120fp
 Rotor speed=(1-s)Ns
METHODOLOGY

 This presentation illustrates the development of MATLAB software

program to simulate the performance of three phase induction
machines complete with graphical analysis display on computer
 Analysis includes transient response, starting method
 Stationary reference frame is used in modelling of MATLAB/
SIMULINK
to standardize the variable used in simulation
