Coping with exam stress (an article)

Exam time is a stressful time for … Personally, I struggle with the pressures of today's education system. I
have failed to perform to the best of my ability … times, due to the pressure that’s placed on us around
examinations.

The first time I completed … exam was in the … form. Our group took part in … of … exams. With …(the
number) other students, we had to sit in complete silence and write … and answer a series of
comprehension questions, all in just … minutes. I was absolutely paralyzed by the limited time and the
anxiety. The situation gradually improved and I managed to concentrate doing my best to remember …
However, that test was the beginning of my fear of examinations and of failure.

Back then, l had a sweet tooth and a little candy could pass unnoticed. My attention on the ‘horrors’ was
switched, I calmed down and started to work. Now, at … (your age), I’m about to begin … The pressure put
on students by the exam system is intense, so it’s super-important to have a good coping strategy in stock.
Exercise is one of the techniques I have developed for how to look after myself during exam time. It is a
great way to cope with any stress that you may be struggling with. I find that if I exercise before an exam, it
helps to calm my nerves, and then exercising after I have completed the exam helps me to let go of the
stress that has built up during it.
