English Needed by Students of Office Administration

ABSTRACT
The research entitled “English Material Needed by Students of Office Administration” is aimed to
investigate English Materials Needed by the students of Office Administration. The research focuses
on the English Materials Needed by the students. In conducting the research, the writer applied
descriptive method. The writer used purposive sampling. She conducted the research at SMK Negeri
1 Bogor and took the English Teacher, Alumni and The User of Alumni in Office Administration
Major as the participants. The writer found out that the students of Office Administration need the
material which focuses more on letter, customer service and business condition because they have
to be able to understand the condition in business area. The writer suggests that the teacher use
specific materials such as letter, customer service, business condition and relate the content of the
English Materials with the students’ major.

Pendahuluan
Penelitian yang berjudul “Materi yang dibutuhkan oleh siswa Administrasi Perkantoran” bertujuan
untuk meninvestigasi Materi Bahasa Inggris yang dibutuhkan oleh siswa Administrasi Perkantoran.
Penelitian berfokus pada Materi Bahasa Inggris yang dibutuhkan siswa khususnya untuk menunjang
persiapan mereka bersaing di dunia kerja. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskripsi dengan
purposive sampling. Penelitian diadakan di SMK Negeri 1 Bogor dan mengambil alumni, pengguna
alumni dan guru sebagai respondennya. Peneliti menemukan bahwa materi harus difokuskan
terhadap surat menyurat, pelayanan pelanggan, kondisi perbisnisan, dan konten – konten Bahasa
Inggris lainnya yang terkait dengan jurusan siswa.
