CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

Children are the world's most valuable resource and it's best hope for the future by J.F. Kennedy.
Exodus Elementary School headed by the hardworking Dr. Elisa Babela conducts a parent's orientation. The
main purpose of this activity is to orient parents on children’s rights and ensure their full participation in
providing children equal opportunities for protection from all forms of neglect and abuse to achieve well-
rounded individuals. The schools play an important role when it comes down to protecting children against
violence. Enhance the capacity of parents to promote positive discipline at home. Protect learners from
cyberbullying and other forms of online abuse. Most of all ensure partnership of parents in promoting child
protection policy.
The program started with the video presentation of the National Anthem followed by the prayer led by
Ms. Aileen Sajol. After that, Mrs. Faye Maἢozo gave the Welcome Remarks and the Statement of Purpose was
shared by Mrs. Vicky Galeon. Moreover, the lady dean introduced our beloved chosen Grade two teachers.
Mrs. Sheila Lim discussed the Children’s Rights and Child Protection Policy. She emphasized the rights
and protection of every child including proper care and nutrition, and special protection from all forms of
neglect, abuse, cruelty, exploitation, and other conditions prejudicial to their development. And to make sure
that every child has their rights respected. The second topic Cyber Bullying was discussed by Mrs. Sheena
Castillo. Anti-Bullying is an act requiring all elementary and secondary schools to adopt policies to prevent and
address the acts of bullying in their institutions. The speakers indicated the terms and how important
cyberbullying awareness for the child. Why do children cyberbully, what are the reasons and the elements
that characterized Cyber-bullying. The parents and teachers must be aware of what’s happening to the
children inside and outside of the house or school. The third topic was discussed by Mrs. Cyril Hope Manalang
on how to used or practice Positive Approach to Child Discipline. She indicated the Physical form of
Punishment and Non-Physical Form of Punishment and how it will affect the child’s behavior. The last speaker
was Mrs. Lourdes Dapita, She discussed Parents and School Partnerships in Promoting Child Protection Policy,
that the parents shall be actively involved in all school activities or events that raise awareness on children’s
right, positive and discipline and to make sure that the parents monitor their child’s behavior.
After the discussion, the lady dean Ms. Frances Manlangit open a forum for the parents to ask and share their
own experience to evaluate and have progress on how they will approach the child.
The synthesis of this program was given by Mrs. Shella Satorre. She gave the recapitulation from the
beginning to the main subject. Lastly, Master Teacher, Mrs. Beverly Sison who was in-charge to end the
program..
