The Role of a Potter

Jeremiah 18:6

1. Position - the clay will put on the center (wheel).


*Jesus must be the center of our life. Acts 9:6; Phils.1:6

Phil 2:13 - God is working in us.


Eph. 3: 14 - God is working in our heart (inside).
How? by the Word of God.
Christian life is not performance.

2. Pressure - the potter is applying pressure in various places and various


degrees.
*Pressure in our life.
Ex. Joseph - pit, Potiphar's house, prison, (preparation)
Purpose of God in Joseph's life - palace
Rom. 8: 28
James 1:2 - temptations meaning trials
Job 23:8

3. Pliability - the potter uses water to keep the clay soft.


Eph 5:25-26 - Word of God.

The Role of a Clay

Choice and free will.

2 Temptations:
* The temptation to get a hard heart and refuse to the changes that God wants to
meet in us.
Ex. King Saul; Samson
* The temptation to think that God has completed his work in our life. I Tim. 1:6

What would be our response?
