represent them.
 Unit consolidation- Page number -9 to 19.

1)Learning out comes-

i) Develop a belief in the value of mathematics and its usefulness to the students,

ii) Nurture confidence in their own mathematics ability,

iii) Develop the skills , concepts, understandings and attitudes which will enable to cope
confidently with the mathematics of everyday life.

2)Introduction:
i) Motivation: By showing some pictures, and asking some riddles, mental sums, can
motivate the students.

a)How many 9's are there between 1 and 100? Answer: 20,

b)What is half of two plus two? Answer: 3,

c)Using 8’s , 8 times bring 1000, Answer: 888 + 88 + 8 + 8 + 8 and so on.

d) Is it true or false, 98+22+42= 22+98+42,

ii) Recalling:

Write in words: a)92,900 -Ninety two thousand and nine hundred,

b)72,488- Seventy two thousand and four hundred and eighty eight.

iii) Survey: Page number -9 to 19.

4) GROUP ACTIVITY:

Divide the class into 5 groups, and guide them to do sums in arranging the numbers
ascending and descending order.

Page no-18, ex-1.2, 3,4,5,6,7-sums , given them to do in groups. Let the group
members suggest ways to do easily and group leader presents in classroom.

Take a white chart and cut into 9 equal pieces. Write different numbers on each piece.
Arrange the pieces, as many times, horizontally which form different numbers . Write any 5 different
numbers and express them in the Indian and the International system.

5)REINFORCEMENT:

i) Presentation: Using page number 10, in textbook, ICT corner, scan and practising sums
in place value.

ii)Comparison: Allow the students to clarify their doubts amoung peer groups.

iii)Revision : The teacher explains the content theme once again.

7)REMEDIAL TEACHING:

Find out the latebloomers and teach the theme of the place value once
again which they feel hard to them.

8) WRITING:

Teacher asks the students to write in their notebooks from the black board.

9)FOLLOWUP WORK:

a) Collect different types of coins,

b) Give 4 examples where the number of things counted by you would be a 3 digit
number or more.

c)Divide a chart paper into 8 equal parts. Write different 1-digit numbers on it. List
out the possible 8 digit numbers and also found the largest and smallest numbers amoung them.
