Treasure Island

“Everything else was unchanged, the sun still shining mercilessly on the steaming marsh and the tall
pinnacle of the mountain, and I could scarce persuade myself that murder had been actually done and
a human life cruelly cut short a moment since before my eyes.”

Jim was describing the cruel murder of both Tom and Alan in front of his eyes and how Silver murdered
the two in broad day light and had no mercy in such scenario. The overall scene was so normal that all
the other things like sun and mountains are busy in performing their duties.

“As I did so, I could hear hails coming and going between the old buccaneer and his comrades, and
this sound of danger lent me wings.”

Jim was telling that he was so scared, he could hear all the thunderstorm and the loud sound the pirates
were making. This whole situation got me so scared that i wanted to have wings to run away from the
situation.
“The plunge of our anchor sent up clouds of birds wheeling and crying over the woods, but in less than
a minute they were down again and all was once more silent.”

When the ship was about to drop its anchor the birds heard the sound of it and started to flying away in
the sky crying and chirping here and there above the trees. In less than a minute everything became
normal and silent after the ship was properly anchored.

“Mutiny, it was plain, hung over us like a thundercloud.”

Jim goes to the captain, Dr. Livesey and Trelawney to tell them of the planned mutiny. They realized that
they are trying to go against each of them and it is going to chase us and hung above us like a
thundercloud all time.
